Andrew A. McCullough

Andrew has a diverse background in corporate financial and operations management, risk management, and financial consulting. He has successfully navigated small and lower middle-market companies through all stages of development, ranging from startup and early-stage growth to turnaround and mature product repositioning. As a seasoned executive, his career has encompassed organic and acquisition growth initiatives, capital equipment investments, real estate expansion strategies, technology adaptation, and equity recapitalizations. His wide-ranging and global industry experience spans industrial equipment manufacturing and distribution, real estate development, private equity investment, accounting services, and healthcare (physician groups and ambulatory surgery centers).

Andrew’s notable career highlights:

  • Grew a manufacturing business 4x and successfully closed its sale to an investment group at 5x EBITDA.
  • Negotiated a distribution agreement to serve as the exclusive U.S. distributor for Danfoss A/S of Denmark, the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial refrigeration valves and controls.
  • Negotiated the acquisition of the refrigeration valve unit of Wolf-Linde, Inc.
  • Led the development of a network of manufacturer sales representatives throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
  • Completed buy-side acquisition search assignments in oil and gas equipment manufacturing, environmental services, laboratory services, child education services, security services, and food/beverage product manufacturing.
  • Developed a residential subdivision in Ridgway, Colorado.
  • Headed an international team of accounting firm stakeholders to define, document, and implement enhanced risk management strategies around client service conflict checking, background checking on prospective firm partners, and monitoring partner investments in publicly traded audit clients.
  • Negotiated over 30 commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions with total cumulative values exceeding $110M.
  • Sourced over $50M in bank debt for dozens of corporate borrowing initiatives.
  • Co-managed a $25M medical office sale-leaseback to a private equity investment firm.
  • Co-managed a ground-up medical office building development valued at $28M.
  • Co-managed the evaluation, contract negotiation, and post-transaction integration of a healthcare group merger.
  • Transformed dozens of business workflows through technology initiatives, including ERP software, A/P automation software, inventory control systems, supply chain procurement software, HR/payroll systems, revenue cycle management automation tools, investment sourcing and capital market tools, and healthcare provider / ambulatory surgery center EHR systems.

  • MBA with dual concentrations in finance and managerial & organizational behavior from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business

Personal:

Andrew grew up in Geneva, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. He attended the Avery Coonley School for elementary and middle school and Elgin Academy for high school. After college, he returned to Geneva, Illinois where he lived, worked, and raised a family until 2023. He and his wife relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado once their children completed high school. He is an avid downhill skier. Other recreational interests include hiking, fishing, and golf. His favorite spectator sports are hockey and international soccer.

Fun facts: Andrew has traveled extensively internationally, including all continents except Africa and Antarctica. His father, a chemical engineer who worked in international trade, took Andrew’s family on business trips around the world, which included some unique places. He visited Tehran, Iran in 1978, shortly before the Islamic Revolution. He also visited Canton and Peking/Beijing China in 1978. At the time, Andrew’s father was told they were the first U.S. family to be granted visas to China. Andrew also spent the summer of 1982 in Sao Paolo, Brasil, which led to his love of Brasilian football/soccer.
